Final Sculpture Option "The Alien"

After scratching the last idea, i began to brainstorm some ideas before this one surfaced. Starting from legs that are able to support a whole body, it didn't look human so i decided to continue with the alien completely. I drew the sketch after i sculpted the figure. It seemed easier because that way i know what I would be able to do and I wouldn't draw a figure that would be difficult to make. While baking it, the sculpture leaned over which turned out to be a good accident because it gave him a sort of creepy look.

1st sculpture design "The Hat"

When given clay and the assignment to create a sculpture for my spacial design class, one of the 1st ideas to come to mind was a hat character. It was meant to be pretty simple so that the final piece would be able to be distinguishable without any explanation. But executing this idea was more difficult than i thought it would be. Making it hollow while keeping its integrity was seemingly impossible. I soon noticed that this

2nd sculpture idea "Halloween Costume"

The second idea was a person in a Halloween costume. This came about while i was playing with the clay and trying to create the hat from my last idea. It almost fully came together, but trying to create the legs and have them support the rest of the body was becoming increasingly difficult. After numerous attempts, time was again becoming the most difficult aspect of this project.

Trying shade with "Gambit" Drawing

After showing some people my last drawing, the most common response was "where's the shade and shadows?". My dad always asked me to color in my drawings or at least add shade ever since i started to draw. I never liked doing it much because i would always mess my drawings up. So as a challenge to myself, i chose to draw this heavily shaded "Gambit" picture. I decided to shade in the light source trying to make it more significant without using color.

My "Kid Flash" Drawing

Posture drawing is something that i am starting to study more about. This drawing of "Impulse or kid flash" displays him stopping after a run. I drew him because the solid lines and subtle details interested me more than my other options. The details of the face was probably the most difficult part, but it turned out pretty good i think.

When they decide to work, my computers allow me to quickly express my ideas before i forget them. Having my workspace in a room that i share with my brother helps me be inspired by random conversations that we have. I also have a mountain of books that are used for references and for help with parts of a program that i don't know.

Looking for the right game engine is probably the most mind busting part of this project. I don't have any favorites or a bias yet, frankly because i would still have to learn a new software either way. Even though I've barely started anything, i feel extremely confident on what the final product will be. 3d work seems to be what most of my classmates are afraid of, while i just see all of the possible worlds, characters, and more that i can learn to create.
